The most obvious way to fulfill this commandment is not to lie — intentionally deceive another by speaking a falsehood. Children must obey their parents, and adults must respect and see to the care of their parents, when they become old and infirm. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Most of these other laws have now ended but not so with the Ten Commandments.

For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Furthermore, horse thievery in that era could get a man hanged, as it deprived the victim of the ability to fend for himself. Today, these laws still instruct us, expose sin, and show us God's standard. Designed to guide Israel into a life of practical holiness, the ten commandments offer basic rules of behavior for spiritual and moral living.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. One day God called Moses to the top of the mountain. Among the Hebrews as well as other cultures of the Near East, slavery was accepted and normal. Exodus Of all the commandments, the Tenth Commandment has a tendency to be the most contentious. The Third Commandment Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Jehovah's Witnesses criticize the use of all of the above, as well as the use of the cross.
